MAIN PURPOSE:
To provide a business-focused HR service to the International Regions - including Africa and Middle East, India, Caspian, Asia Pacific and AfricaCaspian and Asia Pacific (“MEICAP. Adopting a customer focused approach and providing a cost efficient, innovative solution to the business with the ability to quickly respond to changing priorities. Also acting as a professional source of information and advice, providing guidance in all matters relating to HR issues.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supporting the Africa and MEICAPInternational Regions, you will be responsible for providing operational and strategic HR support in relation to a range of HR issues such as performance management, absence management, conduct and capability issues, reward, resource planning and talent management strategy for the business.
This role will:
· Take a lead role in strengthening organisational capability across the regions
· Take a lead role in the acceleration of talent across the regions
· Take a lead role in ensuring adaptive leadership across the regions
· Ensure that HR impact is increased across the regions.
This will include:
· Proactively supporting the delivery of HR Processes
· Leading and managing complex and difficult HR projects in cross-functional partnerships
· Building strong and credible working relationships with internal stakeholders
· Actively identifying gaps and proposing and implementing changes necessary to manage and mitigate risk
· Acting as the performance improvement driver and provoking positive changes in the people management
· Challenging behaviours and practices that are not aligned to the Company’s strategic objectives in an appropriate and professional manner.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Development and execution of Regional HR Plans aligned to Regional Business Plan/Strategy
· Work with Regional Leadership Teams and key stakeholders to ensure optimum deployment and sustainability of human capital
· Lead HR aspects of new country start-ups as necessary
· Creating a positive employee relations climate; coaching managers to fulfil their people management responsibilities
· Designing succession plans for key talent and key roles
· Working with the Regional Leadership Teams to manage talent
· Challenges the organisational structure of the internal client where necessary and proposes changes in line with the Company’s organisational development objectives
· Acts as a member of the HR Management Team
· Maintains CPD in specialist knowledge to provide expertise and guidance
· Influencing the development of business centered HR policies and processes to ensure they meet the needs of the business and are communicated effectively
· Contribute to the development of Africa and MEICAPMEIC HR strategies in line with business objectives
· Proactively manages people related costs to the business monitors trends
· Assist with identification and resolution of problematic sickness absence management cases and long term sickness/capability issues
· Management of the recruitment and selection process for the client group ensuring compliance with Company policy and budgets
· Coach and mentor regional HR team members.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential:
· Proven track record in a similar role
· PG Dip HRM (or equivalent professional experience)
· Chartered Membership of CIPD (or international equivalent)
· International HRM experience
· Ability to travel as required to countries within the MEICAP and Africa regionsMEICAP and Africa Regions
· Experience of managing organisational change
· Industrial Relations exposure/experience of dealing with Trade Unions
· Experienced in the resolution of complex HR issues, for example TU/IR issues and organisational change/change management
· Providing guidance, along with mentoring and coaching, to managers in relation to HR and Employee Relation situations
HSEQ RESPONSIBILITIES:
It is mandatory that the incumbent is familiar with the Company’s HSEQ Policy and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Sparrows Integrated Management System. The incumbent must report any incidents, near misses, actual or potential problems with products, services or systems to their Line Manager.
The incumbent also has legal responsibilities under country-specific health and safety legislation to follow all Company processes and procedures and familiarise themselves with the emergency response arrangements applicable to them. The incumbent is also responsible for the health and safety arrangements of subordinates (if any) and for any persons visiting them while on the Company premises

The above responsibilities are neither exclusive nor exhaustive and the incumbent may be called upon to carry out such other appropriate alternative or additional duties as may be required which are within their capability and competence.
