• Conduct G&G;studies aimed to mature leads to drillable prospects. This includes, exploration play reviews, prospect ranking and maturation studies including Petroleum System studies, unconventional play review, Basin modelling and Petro-physical evaluation.
• To develop detailed well proposals for exploration and appraisal wells and to participate in multi- disciplinary studies to define and evaluate the upside potential in the three concession areas.
Job Specific Accountabilities Technical Contribution
• Conduct G&G;studies aimed at the maturation of leads to drillable prospects. This includes, exploration play reviews, prospect ranking and maturation, Petroleum System studies, unconventional play review, Basin modelling and Petro physical evaluation.
• To develop detailed well proposals for exploration and appraisal wells and to participate in multi- disciplinary studies to define and evaluate the upside potential in the three concession areas.
• To participate in proposing and justifying data gathering activities such as the acquisition of cores, pressure measurements and wireline logs in exploration or appraisal wells.
Geological Studies
• To conduct geological studies, including well log interpretations, well log correlations, preparation of regional reservoir property maps, play maps, prospect maps and other maps, regional play evaluations, prospect ranking and maturation studies, basin analysis and geochemical studies, exploration and appraisal well proposals, etc., all in full cooperation with other disciplines.
General Accountabilities
Information Technology
• Recommends to the Geology Specialist the acquisition of new software and hardware related to geological studies.
Analysis Report
• Contributes to regular management reports such as the weekly Exploration Division highlights, Daily exploration/appraisal well drilling reports; Monthly exploration/ appraisal drilling overview and seismic bar chart and maps, etc.
• Prepare and disseminate reports on a regular and ad hoc basis to ensure that all concerned parties are aware of the status of the work in progress of the projects undertaken in the field from a technical perspective.
Technology Enhancement
• Staying up-to- date with the latest software developments and new applications which are of potential value to the Division.
• To attend conferences, seminars and to review technical periodicals.
People Management & Development
• Stimulate subordinates and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of Exploration Division systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
• Contribute as a shred mentor in the Geoscience Operations Training Program.
Policies, Systems & Processes Improvement
• Ensure the division’s operations meet strategic goals inline with best practice standards.
• Follow all relevant operational procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
المهارات
Minimum Qualification
• Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences (Geology)
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
• 10 - 12 years’ of experience in all aspects of exploration geology including play evaluation, prospect ranking and maturation, exploration well proposal preparation, etc. Good understanding of the various aspects of site management.
Professional Certifications
• Course certificates from core area of Geology (Structural geology, Stratigraphy and Sedimentology, Geochemistry...)
7. TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
• Thorough knowledge of and enthusiasm for petroleum geology
• Exposure to drilling/well operations (well planning etc..)
• Up-to-date – hands on expert level experience in Landmark Seisworks, Petrel or similarly agreed geophysical interpretation software.
