APCO launched its regional operations in 2006 in Dubai. Growing from a team of less than 30 consultants, APCO today has over 150 people from 32 countries working in teams across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Manama, and Kuwait. Our projects also take us to Cairo, Amman, Muscat, Beirut, and other markets in the Levant.
With a portfolio of over 100 clients, APCO’s MEA offices deliver public relations and digital communication support across health, food, consumer & retail, finance, technology, real estate & hospitality, non-profit and public affairs practices. The region also offers specialized services, created for the Middle East, such as our Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model and our Compass and License to Operate offerings.
In addition, APCO’s global AI Comms Lab, a first-of-its-kind innovation center which utilizes artificial intelligence to build and protect the reputations of major global brands, governments and organizations is driven from the Dubai office.

The Social Media Specialist is responsible to create appealing content for APCO clients’ social media presence, including maintaining social media channels per the defined strategy, plan and brand guidelines, helping assess performance and metrics, and looking for new social media avenues and effective ways of connecting with audiences.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Manage client social media content development for channels including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Youtube, Twitter and other platforms
Create new accounts for clients on social media channels
Create content that promotes audience interaction, increases audience presence on client sites, and encourages audience participation
Provide live social media coverage of client events and client engagement in events
Work as part of a team to develop sizable and successful social media strategies, plans and campaigns
Propose new ideas and concepts for social media content and audience engagement
Analyze and report audience information and demographics, and success of existing social media projects on a monthly basis or as required by clients
Use timelines and scheduled content to create a consistent stream of new content for audience interaction while analyzing, managing, and altering schedules where necessary to optimize visits

Digital content writing

Strong written and oral communication capabilities
General understanding of social media analytics and how to evaluate success of social media campaigns
Knowledge and understanding of analytical tools - Facebook Blueprint, Google Analytics, Hootsuite, HubSpot or Twitter Flight School
Content Ideation and campaign mapping
Ability to present ideas to colleagues and clients
Account management and client servicing
Understanding and awareness of trends in digital and social media communications
Strong understanding of the tools and processes used in managing social and digital media communications campaigns and activations
An understanding of the pros/cons of major digital and social media platforms, and how they interact
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications or an or equivalent field
Two to three years of relevant experience
Fluency in English and Arabic (written and spoken)
Prior experience in managing government and/or corporate social media accounts and/or campaigns and activations
