Logistics

The Corporate Logistics Team plan, move and control the flow of goods from point of origin to point of consumption across all divisions, markets and brands within Alshaya. Working closely with brand teams to ensure appropriate stock and delivery to store, the team manages a range of complex and diverse activities including shipping, freight, warehouse operations, customs clearance (in-bound and out-bound), compliance and project management.

Role Profile:

Develop and manage the fleet operations and 3rd party service providers. Develop Employees to achieve company targets and goals. Ensure that security and safety standards are maintained.

The below Key Performance Areas include but are not limited to:

Work closely with internal contacts to ensure the fleet operation operates effectively and efficiently whilst improving productivity and managing operating costs.

Work closely with the team to ensure products are delivered on time.
Oversee route planning to ensure optimum utilization of vehicles.
Ensure continuous improvement in productivity and operating costs.
Create, develop, and maintain good working relationships and networks both internally and externally.
Develop, motivate, appraise, and train Employees.

Continuously appraise Fleet Management.
Drive performance by removing obstacles, improving processes, and recommend solutions.
Ensure vehicle cleanliness and health and safety standards are consistent with company policy.

Ensure that vehicle cleanliness and safety standards are consistent with company policy and legal requirements.
Maintain security.
Lead by example with regards to compliance.
Provide accurate reports and support to internal and external contacts.

Provide accurate information and support to operations and merchandising teams. Liaise with outside service departments, third party providers and government agencies.
Control all controllable costs and manage all budgets, making recommendations for costs structures for new budgets

Control variable and fixed costs to within budgeted levels. Continuously explore opportunities to affect additional cost savings and improve service standards.
Ensure cost efficiency and service efficiency for all fleet activities.

Ensure most cost effective and efficient methods of clearance/delivery of incoming and outgoing shipments. Continuously liaise with Customs and Municipal Departments, building up good working relations
Knowledge:

Fleet management
Route Planning
Retail Operations, Shipping and Customs
Experience:

Managed a sizable fleet operation (in excess of 60 vehicles)
Graduate qualification in logistics desirable
Minimum 8 years’ experience in a Senior Fleet position
