Job Description / Role
Develop & drive implementation of sourcing and distribution strategy for Fruit & Vegetables, in line with retail business vision, with desired level of fill rate, quality and margins. The utilization of systems and information to evaluate business performance, control costs and manage risks. Additionally, there is a need to ensure training of various stakeholders across the retail business to maximize efficiencies.

Fruits and Vegetables business in Fathima Retail is a core business as it is directly linked to retail vision. Also, as F&V;is highly unorganised in the region, it becomes more difficult to manage F&V;supply chain.

The major challenges in this job are:
Managing Volatility - Price Tracking
Controlling Perishability - Cost effective model development
Lack of supply chain infrastructure
Price discovery
Quality variability with respect to harvest, crop cycle and environmental effect
Multiple suppliers – direct from Farmers, vendors, strategic suppliers etc.
Daily & consistent supply
Varied & changing consumer expectation/perception
