Financial Controller / manager (Manufacturing Company)
Basic Function: The position is in accounting and finance in a contracting /oil services Company that includes the preparation of periodic financial reports, maintenance of adequate systems of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risks, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensuring that reported results comply with international financial reporting standards (IFRS).
Principal Accountabilities:
Financial accounting and reporting
Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the users and in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and Develop and implement policies and procedures as required to ensure that personnel and financial information are secured.
• Assist top management and Group CFO with financial reporting when required to support the decision-making process.
• Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions.
• Ensure the preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts and reports for operational management, Responsibility for all journals and final GL balances including review of month end balance sheet reconciliations and control accounts.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Company’s accounting records and financial systems.
• Preparation of statutory accounts for the Company in accordance with the relevant accounting principles and play a full part in providing relevant & timely financial information to the parent company to enable balanced and objective assessment of the Group’s strategy and objectives.
• Preparation of budgets, forecasts and business plans and continued monitoring & review of performance against them to enable robust reporting of variances to the top management, Group CFO or third party stakeholders.
• Analyze financial performance against key business metrics and document pertinent financial highlights that will enable management to determine progress against budgets.
• Effectively manage the working capital components of the company with specific attention to stock, debtors and cash balances.
• Active management of overheads whilst seeking out areas for efficiencies for savings.
• Assist Group CFO in respect of periodic reports to the Group’s Audit Committee explaining the processes adopted and undertaken by management to keep under regular review the effectiveness of internal controls covering financial, operational & compliance controls.
• Play an active role in assisting management in the risk assessment process and embedding a risk management culture throughout the organization.
• To take a lead role in the implementation of the new ERP system, and working closely with IT to ensure users have access to the key components of the ERP system, receive adequate training and have the essential reports readily available to facilitate decision making and problem solving.
• Effectively manage, motivate and develop the Finance dept., Supervise & review performance of individuals in the team.
• Implementation of a change management culture by challenging & replacing established processes and procedures where necessary.
• Give direction and leadership towards the achievement of each division’s strategy and its annual goals and objectives.
• Liaise with different departments to ensure the Finance dept. is properly supporting the needs of the operating businesses.

Qualifications & Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance with excellent proven experience as a Financial Controller/Manager not less than 3 years in a contracting/oil services Company.
• Professional qualification such as CMA/CPA or similar will be considered a plus.
• Extensive understanding of financial and contracting trends both within the company and general market patterns.
• Proficient user of finance software
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used
• A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles
• Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations
