Main responsibilities of the role include:
- Oversee development and delivery of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies and Nightly Show. This includes responsibility of managing the selected Production Company Contractor to produce Opening, Closing and The Nightly Show;
- Provide leadership and guidance to ensure an effective management of the required contractors and suppliers to deliver the Ceremonies, Nightly Show and Parade;
- Support the procurement and commercial teams to negotiate commercial terms with the selected contractors and suppliers in order to ensure the best possible outcome for Expo 2020;
- Contribute to the conceptualisation of creative concepts for Opening and Closing Ceremonies, Nightly Show and Parade, in collaboration with the key creative team;
- Together with the Creative team and appointed Production Company, facilitate the planning, design and development of show creative concepts and lead the relevant approval processes internally within Expo;
- Formulate the strategy for attracting creative and performance talent for each of the shows;
- Liaise with the Expo management team, relevant departments, and stakeholder organisations to ensure delivery requirements are planned and agreed for all aspects of Ceremonies and Nightly Show;
- Oversee the integration of the Production Company Contractors with internal Expo resource and other Production contractors as required;
- Oversee the budget, timing and deliverables, particularly where there are multiple delivery stakeholders and conflicting demands;
- Ensure agreement for the preferred delivery model and the subsequent management, delivery, quality and budget of all aspects of the programme;
- Manage the Ceremonies and Nightly Show budgeting and reporting processes; including the introduction of measures to ensure cost efficiency and scale benefits;
- Establish structures, policies, processes and reporting frameworks to ensure effective and efficient reporting to meet any internal Governance processes;
- Identify and appoint the necessary team members to support the delivery of the Ceremonies and Nightly Show;
- Provide leadership and guidance to the entire team, ensuring world class delivery of Ceremonies, Nightly Show and Parade for Expo 2020.
المهارات
15+years’ experience in project management & major events, as well as:
- Bachelor’s Degree;
- Significant experience with planning and delivery of large scale Ceremonies and shows;
- Knowledge of Mega Event operational planning and delivery;
- Significant experience in delivering large, complex programmes of work;
- A track record of leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams effectively;
- Ability to manage, direct and coordinate a wide range of people at differing levels of authority;
- Ability to develop positive relationships among internal and external stakeholders, peers and senior management;
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and ability to lead a team that supports several internal departments on key issues;
- Displays the highest levels of integrity and commitment;
- Excellent negotiating, communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal);
- Flexible, resilient and positive through organizational growth and change.
