Main responsibilities of the role include:
- Reporting to the Technical Director and aligning with Al Wasl Plaza technical team and the Creative Team to deliver the staging, scenic and props elements for Al Wasl Plaza;
- Manage and co-ordinate the technical design of various staging and scenic elements;
- Produce and assemble the technical rider to include technical specifications, drawings and information specific to Al Wasl Plaza;
- Manage and liaise with contractors and suppliers, from design through to delivery for staging, scenic and props elements;
- Carry out research and development of various materials and construction methods for various staging, scenic and props elements;
- Assist and contribute to budgeting, cost checking and scheduling related to the activities of the staging department;
- Responsible for reviewing, managing and monitoring visiting productions working collaboratively with the in–house technical and operations team;
- Create and adhere to risk management strategies in relation to the delivery of Al Wasl Plaza staging;
- Adhere to H&S;strategies in relation to the delivery of Al Wasl Plaza staging and ensure staff and sub/contractors are aware and abide by H&S;requirements;
- Comply and respond to all Expo 2020 procedural, administrational, and operational guidelines and instructions;
- Promote equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organisation;
Proactively support, and ensure that the principle contractors and subcontractors support sustainability, that is in line with Expo 2020.
المهارات
8+years’ experience in Staging & Scenic, major events & International Theatres, as well as:
- Bachelor’s Degree;
- Significant experience with planning and delivery of large scale Al Wasl Plaza and shows;
- Knowledge of Mega Event operational planning and delivery;
- Significant experience in delivering large, complex programmes of work;
- A track record of leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams effectively;
- Ability to manage, direct and coordinate a wide range of people at differing levels of authority;
- Displays the highest levels of integrity and commitment;
- Excellent negotiating, communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal);
- Flexible, resilient and positive through organizational growth and change;
- Knowledge of CAD or other relevant drawing programs.
