Main responsibilities of the role include:
- Reporting to the Technical Director and working alongside the technical team to deliver the special effects, flame, pyrotechnic and smoke elements within Al Wasl Plaza, as well as delivering rigging elements relating to lighting, video and audio within Al Wasl Plaza;
- Manage, co-ordinate and monitor the technical design of various effects and pyrotechnic elements for Al Wasl Plaza, as well as for rigging related to lighting, video and audio in Al Wasl Plaza;
- To manage the production and assembly of technical documentation of the requirements for the special effects systems and rigging Al Wasl Plaza;
- To provide production management in regard to the design and documentation of required infrastructure works required to support any truss or cable rigged at height in Al Wasl Plaza;
- Ensure that special effects systems are developed and provided in accordance with the approved designs and fit for purpose, and as directed by the Technical Director;
- Manage and liaise with the contractors engaged for the execution of the special effects systems and rigging in regard to the requirements of services for Al Wasl Plaza as required by the Technical Director;
- Responsible for coordination of rigging loads applied to the roof and safe work methods of any activities taking place working at height within Al Wasl;
- Assist and contribute to budgeting, cost checking and scheduling related to the activities in Al Wasl Plaza;
- Adhere to H&S;strategies in relation to the delivery of Al Wasl Plaza Program and ensure staff and sub/contractors are aware and abide by H&S;requirements;
- Ensure the safety of staff, public, contractors, cast and volunteers relating to rigging elements by developing safe systems of work, inductions, providing advice on PPE, fall protection and rescue at height polices;
- Ensure the design and specifications of all special effects and rigging systems complies with the appropriate industry, government and local authority guidance and regulations;
- Produce and assemble technical specifications, drawings and information specific to supply, installation and operation (or part thereof) of the technical production elements required for Al Wasl Plaza rigging elements;
- Basic knowledge of CAD such as AutoCAD – Advantageous.
المهارات
8+years’ experience in Special Effects and Rigging, as well as:
- Bachelor’s Degree;
- Significant experience with Special Effects for Ceremonies and shows;
- Knowledge of Mega Event operational planning and delivery;
- Significant experience in delivering large, complex programmes of work;
- Work independently with minimal supervision and ability to lead a team that supports several internal departments on key issues;
- Displays the highest levels of integrity and commitment;
- Excellent negotiating, communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal);
- Flexible, resilient and positive through organizational growth and change.
