Job Summary:
We are looking for a results-driven and confident Financial Controller to manage and improve financial performance and direct all functions of the organization’s finance and accounting departments. The candidate should be able to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate finance & accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation.
The candidate should be able to develop new financial policies to help meet or exceed corporate goals. His strategic planning and exceptional numerical proficiency should aid our organization in maintaining positive revenue and financial growth. We expect him to formulate sound financial strategies, implement proper internal controls, achieving organizational targets, and develop financial plans that support management’s vision.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Planning
• Providing leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting team
• Providing strategic recommendations to the Owners / Shareholders
• Managing the processes for financial forecasting and budgets, and overseeing the preparation of all financial reporting
• Advising on long-term business and financial planning
• Establishing and developing relations with senior management and external partners and stakeholders
• Assist in formulating the company’s future direction and supporting tactical initiatives
• Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans
• Develop financial and tax strategies
• Develop performance measures and monitoring systems that support the company’s strategic direction
Operations
• Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team
• Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team
• Oversee the financial operations of domestic and foreign operations
• Oversee the company’s transaction processing systems
• Implement operational best practices
• Oversee employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing a costeffective benefits package
Financial
• Act as the primary support person for month, quarter and year-end financial activities
• Oversee the issuance of financial information
• Report financial results to the Owners / Shareholders.
• Ensure cash flow is appropriate for the organization’s operations
• Ensure compliance with the law and company’s policies
• Prepare and publish timely monthly/quarterly financial statements
• Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, Fixed Assets, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Funding
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
• Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts
Third Parties
• Manage any third parties to which accounting or finance functions have been outsourced
• Work with our accounting department to streamline vendor payment processes and improve the financial health of the company
• Maintain banking relationships

Professional & Educational Qualifications:
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or comparable field
• Strong accounting / finance background
• Minimum 15 years of work experience in this field, preferably in retail / FMCG
Preferred Requirements / Certifications:
• Master’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent advanced degree (MS / MBA…etc.)
• Licensure / Designation as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) / Chartered Accountant (CA)
Knowledge and Skills:
• Ability to exude the highest level of confidentiality and discretion
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with management
• Strong problem solving and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and resultsorientation
• Extensive experience managing finance teams
• Preparing and analyzing reports and making improvements to fiscal tools and systems
• Strong technical skills including high proficiency with Excel spreadsheets
• Strong Work Ethic
• Well-developed written and oral communication skills
• Numeracy and logical thinking
• Experience dealing with internal and external auditors
• Proven experience in financial management
• Comfort reading legal agreements and contracts
• Proficiency with one or more accounting software packages
• Ability to drive the team and company towards corporate governance
