Essential Functions:
• Determines fertility levels of individuals
• Collects eggs and sperm (gametes from patients for processing)
• Performs micro-manipulation and testing of suitability of each gamete
• Prepares gametes and the environment for the in vitro fertilization (IVF) and facilitation of fertilization
• Uses assisted reproductive technologies to help with infertility
• Preserves gametes and embryos for futures use; embryo culture and cryopreservation
• Monitors embryos development through different stages
• Selects embryo for transfer to recipient women, research or other intended use and the implantation of embryos into reproductive organs
• Cares and maintains equipment
• Maintain and records pertaining to patient care
• Maintains confidentiality of all patient information
• Be part of the on-call for weekends and emergency call out for lab
• Performs other duties as assigned
