Summary of overall job purpose: Design, calculations, management of yard support day to day activities, lifted load-outs activities for new built, retrofit & conversion projects. Preparing documents and drawings for classification society and client. Provide Engineering support for major conversion & RIAP projects and yard activities. Prepare and maintain project planning documents related Yard support discipline. The main job activities:
Carry out duties assigned by lead engineer / manager for day-to-day operations and to ensure them to compliance with the established standards and procedures.
Designing of temporary construction support, Lifting Arrangement with structural integrity check for structural blocks & modules, including Heavy lifts using Yard crane resources.
Performing FEA and calculations to prove integrity of structure for lifting/supporting/skidding/load-outs.
Prepare and submit structural design proposals including technical drawings and calculations.
Supervise the work of CAD designers (case by case basis, when allocated) and contractors to ensure quality standards and design criteria are met.
Executing duties of Project Engineer if required.
Preparation of drawing/documentation for approval of Class and statutory bodies.
Ensuring engineering work undertaken is accordance with Departmental Work Instructions, Procedures and Standards.
Ensuring that all activities are in line with OHS & E requirements.
Conducting shipyard audits, risk assessment and training as required.
المهارات
Mechanical Engineering/Naval Architecture or structural engineering degree from a recognised university.
2-5 years relevant experience in shipyard design / engineering office, offshore / Oil & Gas industry in design and production engineering office.
Conversant and worked mainly on construction engineering, lifting, skidding, load-outs.
Comprehensive 2D drafting skills in AutoCAD 2D and 3D.
Basic Knowledge of strength calculations using First Principle.
Knowledge of Structural Analysis softwares such as SESAM Genie, Strand 7 or equivalent is an added advantage.
