Ain Dubai, the world’s tallest observation wheel, is Bluewaters’ unique centerpiece, poised to become one of the world’s biggest tourism hotspots. Expected to be completed in time for Expo 2020 Dubai, Ain Dubai will offer never-seen-before 360-degree views of Dubai’s breath-taking skyline.
At over 250 meters in height, the structure will comprise 9,000 tonnes of steel, almost 25 percent more than the amount of iron used to construct the iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris. Each of the permanent spoke cables responsible for maintaining the structural integrity of the wheel and wheel rim is longer than a professional football pitch. And if they were put together, end-on-end, they would span 2,400km – the same distance from Dubai to Cairo, as the crow flies.
As a buyer, you will assist in the smooth running of the purchasing department in alignment with company standards.
Your key duties include:
• Maintaining a good relationship with all departments.
• Working closely with Stores.
• Ensure that all purchase order requests are properly completed and approved before the items are purchased.
• Ensure that all items received are properly documented in accordance with the company’s purchasing and receiving procedures.
• Negotiate prices, place required daily orders and ensure prompt delivery.
• Generate purchase orders on approval requisitions and obtain necessary authorization and obtain the authorization from the Director of Finance and General Manager prior to processing these orders.
• Obtain competitive price quotations and confirm purchase availabilities.
• Place and file all Purchase Orders.
• Handle telephone inquiries.
• Maintain HACCP standards at all levels – from product sourcing to storage etc.
• Prepare any reports as requested by management.
• Determine buying requirements and formulate a buying plan and budget for the assigned department/category.
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers and negotiate the best deals with them for procuring merchandise.
• Identify and leverage alternate buying opportunities to source products and to ensure that the company maintains its competitive edge by constant renegotiation
• The Buyer will conduct purchasing in support of inventory management goals and activities.
• Execution of purchase orders both to external suppliers and Inter-co (internal), including update as needed (re-schedules) and date management in Adaco as per given guidelines.
• Ensure a competitive and technically competent supply base, to meet quality, delivery, service and cost objectives.
المهارات
Previous Experience in purchasing/stores enviro at least three years.
Degree or Diploma with a strong command of the English language.
Computer literacy with knowledge of MS Office, Purchasing System (preferably Adaco).
Passion for working in tourism- hospitality, are solution orientated, motivator, flexible and a team player.
