Freight & Supply Chain Manager

Manage international shipping and freight operations for a logistics company operating in Iraq. Shipments include sea freight, airfreight, and sea freight. Candidate must have extensive experience in the management of freight operations for Iraq. Ideal candidate should have experience with international freight forwarders, clearance agents in Iraq, deep understanding of Iraqi customs laws and regulations, and an understanding of Iraq oil & gas and energy clientele.

- Manage international shipping team across multiple geographies.

- Build and maintain client relationships to provide them with international shipping and freight services. Clients are typically international companies operating in Iraq and wish to send cargo from around the world to their project sites in Iraq.

- Manage client expectations, resolve issues, and provide updates to client personnel on ongoing project shipments.

- Manage shipment document preparations and ongoing shipments with door-to-door visibility.

- Recommend shipping solutions to minimize cost in addition to selecting shipment routes, based on nature of goods, transit times, or security needs. This include optimization of shipment consolidations.

- Manage the team to calculate weight, volume, or cost of goods to be moved, in addition to documentation.

- Manage import licenses for chemical and DG cargos being shipped into Iraq.

- Manage project costing and profitability.

- Manage relationships with freight forwarders, agents, and subcontractors related to shipping.

- Verify adherence of documentation to customs, insurance, or regulatory requirements specifically for Iraq.

المهارات
- Previous experience in managing teams.

- Extensive technical knowledge in Iraq international shipping and freight operations.

- Previous experience with logistics operations with an international player or as part of a logistics department for an regional or international oil and gas player.

- Previous technical knowledge in custom clearance procedures for Iraq.

- An advantage to have previous knowledge in logistics, local transportation, storage and port regulations

- Native or near-native in English and Arabic (written, spoken and comprehension)

- Excellent computer skills including MS Office with experience with some accounting programs

- Frequent travel requirement to Iraq

- Based in Jordan, UAE, or Iraq.
