Duties and Responsibilities:
Conducts in-depth analysis of IT and Intelligent Transport Systems infrastructure and networking architecture elements and identify target architectures and gaps from baseline in line with RTA technology strategy
Identifies new and emerging IT and Intelligent Transport Systems infrastructure and networking related technologies and assesses their relevance to RTA technology strategy and architecture
Supports in developing and implementing enterprise architecture practices and standards to enhance and maintain an scalable, robust, secure and reliable infrastructure architectures
Creates, reviews, and improves RTA IT and Intelligent Transport Systems infrastructure architecture practices and standards including but not virtualization, data centre management, and availability and capacity management
Establishes design guidelines, standards and requirements of IT and Intelligent Transport Systems infrastructure architecture and ensures that architectural modelling is embedded in RTA technology practices
Analyses availability and capacity requirements and designs infrastructure and network architecture and reviews design policies covering connectivity, capacity, interfacing, security, resilience, recovery, access and remote access.
Identifies, evaluates and recommends IT and Intelligent Transport Systems infrastructure architecture alternatives for business cases
Provides expert advice to technology portfolio manager on the portfolio dependencies and re-use of existing IT and Intelligent Transport Systems infrastructure assets from an architecture point of view
Provides expert inputs during Request for Proposals (RfP) development and evaluates vendors’ proposals for IT and Intelligent Transport Systems infrastructure and networking architecture domain
Provide expert advice to project managers on IT and Intelligent Transport Systems infrastructure and networking programs and projects and manages complex IT infrastructure and networking programs and projects as required
Ensures compliance with IT and Intelligent Transport Systems infrastructure architecture principles and standards for various systems and components
Analyses requirements for managing storage and data based on level of criticality of information.
Updates policies and standards for data management practices and recommends storage investments and data management policies to meet Recovery Point Objective and Recovery Time Objective
Actively participates in change management practices for planned and emergency change requests to ensure the smooth transition of services, service components and packages to product systems
Analyses IT asset utilization and recommends plans and corrective actions to improve IT and Intelligent Transport Systems infrastructure and networking service assets management practices
Contributes to project related architecture reviews and ensures compliance with RTA Infrastructure and Intelligent Transport Systems architecture policies and procedures
Establish metrics for tracking and measuring the value of IT and Intelligent Transport Systems infrastructure architecture initiatives such as measuring availability and virtualization
Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as appropriate.
المهارات
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical / Electronic engineering from a recognized university.
8 years of experience in similar field as specialist in IT infrastructure and intelligent transport systems
Must have previous experience in Command and Control Centers, preferably in transportation industry
Desirable knowledge of International / European / US ITS Architecture standards and deployment
Desirable knowledge of Traffic Engineering and Traffic Control systems.
Desirable knowledge in transportation systems for example SCOOT, ATMS, Smart Motorways, rail, buses, dispatching systems or others.
Desirable knowledge of ISO 14813-1 Reference Model Architecture and other related standards
Required IT/ICT skill sets.
Must have experience in using in maintaining and generating reports from databases
Excellent project management skills to develop and direct project managers
Ability to initiate and direct IT and Intelligent Transport Systems projects in support of strategic and operational goals.
Knowledge on latest developments and trends in the area of ITS technologies
Highly analytical thinking with demonstrated talent for identifying, scrutinizing, improving, and streamlining complex work processes.
Computer-literate performer with extensive software proficiency covering wide variety of applications.
