JOB PURPOSE: Create a higher value proposition through improved customer experience and lead the unit’s project planning team to ensure that the awarded projects are delivered in full, on time, on budget and to the required quality standard (within the agreed specifications).
The incumbent would be ultimately responsible for the process of planning, executing, monitoring and closing awarded projects following FPi’s adopted Process flows, Procedures and deployed tools. The incumbent is also expected to leverage his project management expertise to introduce word class controls/tools/techniques to support the successful execution of projects and to satisfy the Client’s requirements and needs that would ultimately enable repeat business. The incumbent will also have to ensure compliance to FPI in-house Rules, Codes & Policies.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Project Management
Directly responsible for leading and managing key Projects which usually requires decisions having high impact on the business and which necessitates a higher acumen of managerial, technical and contractual skills.
Lead the unit’sproject planning team and ensure that the awarded projects are delivered in full, on time, on budget and to the required quality standard (within the agreed specifications). The project team must consult with the site Operations lead but once the plan is agreed and scheduled, will hold the Operations Manager accountable for delivery against the plan and will escalate any issues that cannot be resolved at local level to the Regional or Global Project lead as appropriate.
Maintain and Circulate OTIF KPIs by project.
Responsible to allocate the awarded projects among the team and set the project planning priorities within his unit to meet the committed deliverables.
Reach out to regional project managers and global planning team to agree on priorities for multi-site projects.
Coordinate daily with the operations team to ensure realization of the production, inspection and logistics schedules which would enable timely deliveries to customers.
Lead and motivate his team and ensure that the relevant succession planning, training and other HR related programs and initiatives are being effectively rolled out.
Monitor, Follow-up and Report the progress of ongoing projects to ensure that project plans and milestones are being pursued and fulfilled.
Analyze project execution issues and client requests and ensure that the necessary corrective actions, best practices and necessary controls are initiated and rolled out.
Monitor the projects scope variations and ensure that the appropriate tools are deployed in order to maximize profit on projects.
Introduce the appropriate contractual risk mitigation strategies so as to safeguard the company’s interest and escalating issues where necessary
Monitor payment schedules in order to ensure timely collection and minimize late and overdue payments.
Ensure that all customer requests and complaints are being attended and resolved professionally and in a timely manner.
Ensure regular posting of project Critiques and case study Reports in order to develop a group wide projects data base
Manage and nurture relationships with customers and clients through efficient communications, timely response, and regular visits.
Monitor the effective implementation of Customer Service Management systems (customer complaints management system and customer surveys)
Enhance functional and cross functional collaboration by providing feedback to other roles and functions providing services to the project management function and explore opportunities to add value to the projects performance.
Policies & Procedures
Implementation and compliance to the applicable policies, procedures, workflows and methodologies
Adhere to legal and financial procedures set by FPI in the execution of projects while highlighting risks.
Ensure strict compliance to FPI applicable in-house rules and Ethics policy.
HSE
Develop a safety culture by ensuring all staff comply with HSE policies and procedures
Participate in QHSE audits, incident reporting and review of QHSE performances as required
Comply with relevant safety, quality and environmental control procedures and instructions
Use personal protective equipment and safety gear when performing assigned tasks
Report unsafe acts, incidents or safety violations
SPAN OF Communication:
Internal: Project Planning, Legal, Sales, Bids & Proposals, VETM, SSC, Production, Purchase, Stores, QA/QC, Delivery, Site Services, and Finance.
External: Customers, Suppliers, Subcontractors, DFI/ENOIA
Job relevant information

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications:
Engineering degree in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical or Industrial
PMP Certification
Good inter-personal & Communication skills
Minimum Experience:
10+ years Project management relevant experience
Job-Specific Skills:
Knowledge of Contract Law
Hands-on Project management experience
Knowledge of the Company’s products, processes, accreditations, delivery, installation and quality procedures
In depth knowledge of the logistical interactions needed for efficient project management
