Role Objective:
To carefully study the material/technical requirements and specifications and recommend the most suitable solution that satisfies the jobs’ cost, time and quality constraints. To develop and maintain technical library for the company that includes technical material for approved suppliers and service providers.
STRATEGIC
Conducts market visit and trade shows to increase his market network and
awareness.
Develops, maintains and updates the technical library with the relevant
supplier/subcontractor brochures and catalogs.
Introduces new suppliers from market who shall offer best prices, quality and
payment terms.
Responsible for the material procurement database.
Responsible for the development and prequalification of suppliers and service providers.
OPERATIONAL
Sends Request for Quotation (RFQ) for material and services/subcontracts work to meet manufacturing schedule.
Collects responses to RFQ and quotations for material and subcontract work and
uploads them in the used application.
Prepares comparison sheets for technical, prices, schedule and budget evaluation, obtains approval and ensures that the applied system is updated.
Responsible for providing material samples for client approval.
Prepares local purchase orders if required and ensured material are purchased accordingly.
Executes purchase process from ordering to delivery and payment to suppliers/ service providers.
Coordinates with warehouse and manufacturing team the material requirements to ensure timely availability.
Analyses order volume/price ratio along with requirement, lead time and warehouse capacity and proposes procurement approach for each item.
Supports Construction team for timely delivery of materials, technical issues and
payments issues (if any).
Ensures purchased items comply with order specifications and quantity.
Coordinates closely with Engineering team to obtain technical evaluation,
compliance and scope matrix when necessary.
Coordinates with AMANA Head Office Procurement team to gain price benefits through approved long-term suppliers.
Attends ad-hoc and periodical meetings and provides feedback from manufacturing prospective.
Ensures periodical reports are accruately and timely submitted, updates applied software and systems as required.
Visits sites when necessary.
Research: Evaluate and compare products and services to determine which best meet the organization’s needs.
Inventory control: Coordinates with warehouse team the critical inventory stock of raw materials or other goods and places orders when supplies run low.
Negotiating contracts: After securing the best pricing, terms and delivery options for each product or service, settling the contract.
Drives environmental sourcing and sustainability.
Develops and applies tools/systems to evaluate supplier performance. Visits regular suppliers.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
Assists in the training and development of team members.
Supports in the selection of junior team members in the supply chain team.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Management.
المهارات
Education:
Bachelors Degree preferably in mechanical engineering or procurement related degree with additional certifications in supply chain or procurement
Experience:
minimum 6 years in Procurement
in manufacturing industry or fit out is required, construction could be eventually considered
