Position: Urban Director
About Client – One of the 15 + year old leading Media and Entertainment group.
Preferred industry - Signage, City Beautification, Infrastructure , Civil Engineering.
Location: Doha, Qatar.

Role Description:
• Actively participate in the development and implementation of the company’s vision, mission, short-term and long-term strategic goals and budget thereby ensuring maximization of shareholder value.
• Drive the development and oversee implementation of the business line strategies and plans assigned to enterprise to ensure its contribution to the overall group strategy and goals.
• Aim to achieve overall sales and marketing initiatives within the organization including business development and brand equity enhancement.
• Initiate organization and system development aimed at achieving operational efficiency across the organization including corporate governance, policy and procedures, human capital development and IT system enhancement.
• Champion the development and maintenance of mutually beneficial relationships with Government bodies, shareholders, customers, clients, partners and employees for the overall benefit of the organization.
Strategic:
• Lead development and oversee implementation of strategy, business plan and business targets assigned group
• Oversee JVs created by actively participating in the management and oversight.
• Ensure enhancement of shareholder value of the company as well as oversee achievement of business and financial targets.
• Oversee business development activities for assigned enterprises and businesses as well as initiate and build relationship with strategic market players.
• Oversee structuring and brokerage of deals and partnerships with key players in the relevant industries.
• Closely oversee development of partnerships with key strategic partners.
• Champion development of policies and procedures to ensure overall operational effectiveness.
• Secure and enhance reputation of assigned enterprises and businesses in the market as well as represent it as a leading Company in its target industry and geographies. Operational: • Oversee long term relationship development with key potential customers as well as ensure that assigned enterprises and businesses adequately represented.
KEY DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversee relationship management with key existing customers as well as facilitate resolution of key issues related to customer service or execution of contractual obligations. • Oversee concept development as well as initiate projects to increase reputation and/or to utilize market opportunities for new events. • Oversee overall project management model development to ensure effective implementation and completion of project on time within or under the budget. • Oversee that all projects are in line with the contractual agreements and in compliance to the quality levels expected. • Manage, mitigate and monitor any deviances in project plan and ensure reputation is highly maintained. • Ensure that the assigned enterprises and businesses comply with relevant local and internal regulations and standards. • Liaise with business support functions (Finance, HR, IT and other) to ensure that all required support services are provided on time and on the required level of quality. • Oversee management of completed, ongoing and new projects. • Provide executive support and participate in management of operations in the relevant JVs. • Perform any other work related duties as assigned by the Group Chief Executive Officer. People: • Ensure effective communication of corporate information to employees within the company including relevant policies and procedures. • Ensure compliance with the performance management process and its linkages to learning and development, compensation, promotion, career development and succession planning. This is done in full collaboration with the HR function. • Coach and mentor direct subordinates to develop their skills and ensure continuous people development.
Health, Safety & Environment Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the department to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products/services and a responsible environmental attitude.
PROFILE: QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
• Degree in Engineering, Business, Management, Economics or related discipline • Post graduate degree such as MSc, MBA or PGD in a relevant discipline is required • Any relevant professional certification such as PMP will be an added advantage • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience
