ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provides high quality nephrology and hemodialysis care and management of dialysis patients
• Complies with Approved International Accreditation Standards and follows all Saudi governmental regulations and DaVita Policies and Procedures (P&PS;)
• Manages daily patient bedside rounds, including teaching and guidance for overall nephrology and hemodialysis treatment, with general practitioners
• Leads at least weekly documented face-to-face consultation and re-assessment of dialysis prescription and prescribed medications
• Oversees long-term care planning, including transplantation whenever appropriate
• Coordinates with Saudi Ministry of Health (MOH) hospitals and provision of documentary requirements including in case of emergencies or travel
• Provides discharge summary/endorsement to attending nephrologist in case of admission
• Coordinates all shift coverage and vacation planning with dialysis nurses and physicians on duty
• Evaluates all new patients, coordinates with nursing staff for diagnosis and short- and long-term treatment management
• Provides thorough documentation in patient charts of individual treatment and follow-up
• Leads local dialysis committees and administrative functions in parallel with the center Head Nurse
• Identifies issues affecting normal center operations, patient care, visitor safety or teammate well-being and coordinates with Head Nurse, Regional Medical Director and/or Regional Operations Director to devise and implement corrective action plans
• Tracks and monitors all quality improvement data and clinical audits on monthly basis within the center, with quarterly reports to Regional Medical Director
• Provides chronic hemodialysis therapy and formulates dialysis plans for utility dialysis through various accesses; observes all safety measures applicable to patients with end stage renal disease
• Ensures center preparedness at all times to handle emergency care of patients, including proper training of teammates, equipment readiness, and procedures in place
• Supervises resident nephrologists and specialist nephrologists in conducting their duties as designated and actively organizes and participates in unit rounds
• Participates actively in the training and teaching in area of expertise
• Participates actively in the educational activities of medical and nursing departments
• Participates actively in patient education
• Attends mandatory training as part of the onboarding process
• Assumes responsibility for own administrative/clerical duties as needed
• Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities

المهارات
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum three (3) years’ experience in dialysis preferred
• Certified as a medical doctor in Nephrology specialty
• Certified and registered with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties as Consultant Nephrologist (The candidate should be eligible for a consultant nephrologist credentials based on the criteria of Saudi Health Commission for Health Specialties)
• Experience and certification with pediatric nephrology preferred
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS Word and Outlook required; functional proficiency in all computer systems of DaVita within 90 days of hire required
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Fluent in the written and verbal skills necessary to perform successfully the essential functions, duties, and responsibilities of the position
• Ability to read, speak, and write English with clarity of expression sufficient to communicate technical and complex concepts to teammates, patients, and patient’s family members in clear and easily and understandable terms required (Arabic preferred)
• Ability to understand clinical/medical vocabulary written or spoken in English required (Arabic preferred)
