As Maintenance Section Head you will lead the Maintenance section to take ownership of plant assets to ensure that they are maintained in an optimum manner within their design parameters by ensuring that routine and breakdown maintenance is carried out effectively. In addition, support the Engineering section in the implementation of plant betterment programs to increase plant reliability, availability, efficiency and down time.
Job responsibilities:
Take the lead and direct the Maintenance team on resolution of all Maintenance issues through allocation of resources from within the team or from external expert organisations as required
Direct the management and execution of the day to day maintenance of the station, managing risk whilst optimizing the commercial and performance opportunities during normal operation, and take the lead in execution for outage management, and other projects as may be required to ensure continued reliable operation within agreed KPIs
Support the Maintenance Manager in the development and delivery of the station’s Maintenance and Maintenance business plan
Provide input to the management team in developing appropriate Maintenance strategies for plant betterment projects, and improving the way O&M;is undertaken with specific emphasis on how Maintenance Team can provide support to drive those strategies
Actively promote good safety performance and lead initiatives as required
Manage and organise a team of Supervisors and Technicians who will be required to work to maintain the plant on a day to day basis, so as to ensure that the plant is operated and maintained in a safe and effective manner
Represent the department at key meetings with senior management and the client and other stakeholders, with the knowledge and experience to contribute as required
Ensuring compliance with UAE legal and statutory requirements, and ensure the adherence to site and company procedures
Undertake and evaluate risk against technical issues, and contribute to the resolution with due regard to process safety and to personnel safety
Manage department and section budgets, ensure that regular budget reviews are undertaken and track deviations from planned, follow the financial approval process where deviation to plan needs to be undertaken to manage and oversee plant issues
Manage the warehouse and its activities and ensure optimized spares utilization
Ensure that Plant Modifications are correctly implemented and the site/company procedures are followed, and undertake assessments as a key member of the Plant Modification Panel
Take a lead role in management and use of CMMS and populate the documentation management system
Managing and ensuring the Station’s plant history is properly recorded and plant status documentation systems are properly used on a day to day basis
Review training requirements and identify competency gaps for their team and implement necessary actions to ensure that the team has all the required capabilities to perform their duties
Provide on-the-job training to new team members and regularly evaluate their OJT Performance
Support the Engineering team to identify hazards and areas of risk, and then document and implement control measures to reduce risk and eliminate hazards on the plant
Ensure problems and issues are clearly identified and monitored with operational controls implemented to ensure safe plant conditions
المهارات
Person Specification
Bachelor of Maintenance (either in Mech., Elec., Instrumentation) or equivalent
Postgraduate in Maintenance with power plant Maintenance
10 - 15 years in power plant operations, ideally with ultra-supercritical operational experience
They should possess a broad understanding of power station Maintenance, maintenance, and operations.
Detailed knowledge of current Legislation, current Maintenance Standards, they should also be proficient in finance and procurement procedures and document management systems
Familiarity and experience of SAP
