1. Provide academic counselling to all trainees under his guidance. To that effect, he should handle academic and study concerns of SPSP trainees to help them complete their training program successfully.
2. Provide continuous support to teachers to encourage trainees to consistently perform at their best level in and out of class so as to realize their full potential in the training program.
3. Handle suggestions/complaints of trainees regarding material taught, test results, and other academic matters.
4. Participate in the new intake orientations to fully explain the program to new trainees in terms of performance expectations and graduation requirements and offer guidelines for success.
5. Assist the senior instructors and academic training manager in reviewing results and trainee performance, and determining the status of trainees in the training center program at the end of major testing sessions.
6. Participate in study team meetings to regularly review and monitor learners’ performance progress and take appropriate action concerning learners with marginal performance to include the coordination of remedial training and retesting.
7. Assist the senior instructor by preparing remedial materials for marginal learners and others with special needs.
8. Assist the training center administration in compiling and preparing periodic reports relating to academic performance.
9. Give presentations to training center administration regarding learners’ performance progress and concerns.
10. Recommend actions with regard to trainee promotion/demotion, transfer to other classes and the splitting or combining of classes on the basis of learner needs.
11. Process ‘cause for concern’ reports in collaboration with senior instructors and class teachers.
12. As required present student files to the SPSP out of policy committee and Center Director on a weekly basis.
13. When required provide counselling to trainees with severe attendance issues that are affecting their performance and academic progress
المهارات
• Experience of the delivery and assessment of vocational training, preferably in the petroleum sector, and a knowledge of current published SPSP academic program core texts.
• Knowledge and experience of Arab learners
• Teaching/professional experience in the Gulf region would be a distinct advantage
• Excellent IT skills, and ability to work to deadlines
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentational skills
• Willing to help others and to meet staff and student needs and is ready to follow directions.
• Seeks to learn and recognize work procedures and policies and knows how to locate information.
• Organizes and plans work systematically and in a timely manner.
• Maintains technical skills and knowledge essential to carry out job duties.
