Reports to SAPL Environmental Manager, support the department in daily operations, interfaces with senior RC Management, Industries, and EPCD team members. Receives administrative and technical direction in term of board project objectives from Environmental Protection and Control Department Director and SAPL Environmental Manager.
Major Activities Performed:
Support environmental activities by conducting inspections, preparing/reviewing reports and check industry environment compliance with the RC requirements and determine extent of deviation from the RC regulations and standards;
Provides necessary advice and guidance to the meet the RC goals and objectives and keep EPCD current concerning international regulatory standards, particularly in the field of environmental engineering as it relates to waste management at the heavy industry, industrial waste disposal and recycling. Liaise with residential and industrial waste requirements at JCPDI;
Review and evaluate the waste manifest sheets and related with them documentations such as transportation logs, MSDS, disposal records and technical reports submitted by existing and new industries;
Performs periodic inspections on facilities and JCPDI landfill to ensure environmental compliance;
Evaluates self-monitoring reports and other technical reports submitted by industries and coordinates with other sections regarding waste disposal, waste generation and transportation;
Review and evaluate submitted data from any future investors with regards of their environmental concerns;
Participates in periodic revision of RC Environmental regulations and standards and implement the same in line with Kingdom’s laws, international regulations and standards and best practices;
Evaluates the impact of pollution related with operation of existing, future or previous industries and their activities related with waste generation;
Establishes and monitors the Royal Commissions (RC) Environmental regulations and standards in line with the governments environmental standards and best practices;
Develops scope of work for environmental studies if necessary when related with waste management;
Manages subcontractors performing environmental studies and reviews/comments on work products;
Supports planning efforts for environmental activities associated with the Jazan Master Plan expansion and execution. Provide support to the UPD for landfill arrangements.
المهارات
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or Other Relevant Sciences/Engineering Degree;
Master’s degree in relevant field (Recyclable Waste Management, Environmental Risk Management) preferred;
No less than (10) years of relevant experience in the field of environmental management with primary experience within the heavy industries, industrial waste sector is required. Additional experience with residential waste management is benefit;
Knowledge of waste management and control procedures for different environmental hazards;
Knowledge of waste disposal and waste generation prevention methods;
Knowledge of quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) regulations and procedures;
Knowledge of safety and environment regulations followed in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with experience of the environmental regulatory process within the heavy industries, industrial wastewater and industries waste sectors preferably with the Royal Commission of Yanbu & Jubail in Saudi Arabian or similar;
Experience in setting disaster recovery plans in cases of emergency and the execution of those plans
Key Technical skills in the following:
The management, communication and interpersonal skills
Relevant computer proficiency, experience in using Microsoft Office tools and /or any relevant software.
