The ideal candidate should have:
- Preferably a Welding / Coating Engineer Degree or alternatively a Technical School Diploma with NACE Level 2 or BGAS-CSWIP Painting Inspector Grade 2 certification
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as QC Supervisor – at pipe coating facility or pipeline projects
- Knowledge of Internal Auditor on ISO 9001
The QA/QC Supervisor leads the Plant quality effort to ensure the continuous improvement of quality results. This position creates and manages processes, training, standards, and goals to provide increasing capability of the site to deliver quality results. Responsible for driving the achievement of quality goals and adherence to quality standards, policies and guidelines and actively participates in quality improvement efforts.
Responsible for implementing and maintaining the company’s Quality Management System. Ensure product technical and quality requirements are met. Provide technical representation in front of Customer regarding product requirement. Provide assistance to local team regarding QMS and product technical and quality requirements (training, interface with operations and plants/site In-charge, review and reporting of metrics and trends). Interface with Customer’s representatives on site regarding product quality requirements (meetings and review/update of documentation). Supervise (training and coaching) direct reports to ensure Company’s and quality requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities: the following must be supervised but not limited to:
- Reporting to management, and ensuring safe, efficient execution of all work scopes to pipe’s coating work, ensuring abrasive blasting, coating and inspection operations are carried out in accordance with clients, manufacturer’s specifications/ procedures and ensuring HSE expectations are being implemented
- Project planning, attending meetings, compiling method statements/ application procedures and schedules
- Review and interpretation of process and product testing data and product technical specifications
- Review of non-conformities and troubleshooting process and product issues
- Issues the relevant Quality Records
- Verify/control the correct storage and certification of material and instrumentation calibration certificates
- Supervise and witness/perform qualifications of coating processes
- Managing, supervising and motivating department employees by organizing, facilitating, training and mentoring to safely run operation
- Supervise and check and record surface preparation, atmospheric conditions prior to starting of painting operations and ensure that carry out wet and dry film thickness checks
- Monitor observations of the correct coding cycles and ensure correct color-coding and painting
- Visuals inspections, adhesion testing, penetration testing, evaluate impact testing
- Supports site housekeeping and safety programs, maintaining a work place that is clean and safe.
- Participation towards completion of other related tasks and duties as directed or needed
