Competence Assessor - Rolling Stock Maintenance Management

SAR is looking for a senior level Competence Assessor to join our Rolling Stock Maintenance Department to manage and oversee the full cycle of competence management activities throughout Rolling Stock Maintenance Department.

The purpose of the job is to ensure that the company’s staff are competent in undertaking their operational engineering duties.

A successful candidate will be responsible for developing the plans for competency assessment within Rolling Stock Maintenance to undertake competence assessments thereby meeting the safety critical requirements of the SAR RSM operation.

Support the development of the competence management system and thereby enhance the overall capability of the RSM operation and deliver higher quality products with less risk.

Key Responsibilities Include:
Develop an annual competency assessment plan for RSM
Undertake competence assessments in accordance with the assessment plan
Undertake verification activities
Review the competency management system and make improvements year on year.

COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS (Illustrative, not exhaustive):
Internal: Direct Staff, Foremen, Supervisors, Managers, Directors, internal competence assessors/peers
External: Other competence assessors/peers, supplier’s staff
FRAMEWORKS, BOUNDARIES, & DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY:
Decisions on whether an individual is competent to undertake the task(s) they are being assessed against.
