Lawyers in the intellectual property team advise on trademarks, copyright and patents as well as data protection. This role will involve dealing with all aspects of patent procurement and prosecution nationally and internationally. Candidates will have experience of preparing applications for filing in the Gulf and ideally the U.S. You will handle patent litigation matters including infringement and oppositions, managing portfolios, preparing patentability, FTO and validity options. On most matters you will work autonomously and in a team on substantive ones.
Your will also get actively involved in business development activities in Saudi and also other jurisdictions in the Gulf and work closely with colleagues in other offices.
Candidates will have an academic background in life sciences or chemical engineering with substantive experience of patent procurement and prosecution.
Candidates will ideally be qualified in the US and Arabic language ability is not required for this role. Those with at least 7 years post qualification experience gained in the environment of a patent firm, rated law firm or in-house legal department and a desire to relocate permanently to the region are sought.
