Qualification
-Diploma in relevant vocational training or successfully completed apprenticeship in Industrial Painting (Essential)
-Valid license to practice profession. (Desirable)
-Basic safety training or Health and Safety qualifications. (Desirable)
Experience
Seven or more years of professional experience as an industrial coater/painter in Steel Fabrication or EPC industrial plant environment (Essential).
Position
The “Painting & Sand Blasting Foreman” is responsible for supervising all activates of Surface Treatment Section and focuses on applying knowledge of surface treatment processes, tools, materials, and requirements to maintain production targets, quality, health and safety. 7 years of professional experience as a foreman - Blasting & Painting in Steel Fabrication
Duties and Responsibilities
-Reporting progress, maintain productions record and monitor material usage.
-Liaise with project manager and owner representative to ensure that other department are synchronized and met set target.
-Ensuring efficient and effective manpower loading on completion program.
-Identifying and act upon opportunities for improvement to work & safety related matters.
-Participate in accident investigation, root cause analysis, and provide assistance in preparing reports.
-Implement the day-to-day operations assigned for the department / Section to ensure compliance with the established standard and procedures.
-Motivate, direct, align and guide the team for the best performance, monitor performance and provide continuous appraisal and feedback.
-He is expected to resolve all work-related issues by finding the way to do the jobs as instructed.
-Exercise discipline at the work site to prevent absenteeism, unsafe work practices and idleness.
-Clean and store paint tools and equipment after use
-Maintain a clean and organized jobsite free from any unnecessary hazards associated with the work being performed by a paint crew.
-Monitor and maintaining a breathing air box during blasting operations
-Monitor and maintaining paint and blast pots during paint operations
-Reads and interprets layout work orders and receive instructions from supervisor regarding task priorities and scheduling.
-Prepares and sets up of necessary tools and equipment for painting processes.
-Selects the appropriate paint or mix paints according to a pre-determined formula.
-Stages parts and welded assemblies for painting and assembly processes.
-Operates other production equipment and performing tasks necessary to complete product to engineering specifications and quality requirements.
-Ensures to select appropriate paint or mix paints and operates equipment to prepare steel for application of protective coatings.
-Operates equipment to spray or coat as well as prepares and applies stencils, decals and computer-generated barcodes.
-Treats stainless steel surfaces using pickling and cleaning methods on welded internals.
-Paints small items and apply touch-ups.
-Examines finished assemblies, parts and products to quality requirements and propose potential quality or productivity enhancements for the purpose of continual improvement.
-Assists the Inspector in checking and ensuring that all painting processes is carried out as per the specification and BGAS standard
-Supports the Quality Assurance function with respect to Quality assurance evaluation of blasted products.
-Documents actions by completing production and quality logs also report production issue(s) if any.
-Maintains equipment including painting, coating, ventilation and compressed air by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repair.

-Uses required personal protective equipment (such as steel toe shoes, ear and eye protection).
-Follows all safety rules and quality standards especially ISO, NEBOSH and OSHA standards applicable to the responsibilities above.
