Well Engineering Manager (WEM) leads well engineering activities within area of geographical responsibility according to guidelines and processes set out in the Integrated Well Services (IWS) Management System. The IWS WEM is part of the project team that provides technical and operational support for well construction operations from the tendering stage through project commencement, operations and wrap-up. The WEM ensure that an optimal, safe and cost effective well design is prepared and detailed procedures are provided to the execution team; the WEM supports the operations team during execution providing operational follow up, technical assistance, and troubleshooting support. The WEM reviews design and /or execution optimization opportunities and coordinate its implementation. WEM leads the Well Engineering team and provide the necessary support and guidance. Lead a team that makes a difference to our business As a Well Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for: · Participating in and conducting customer presentations & meetings, as needed, including travel to field locations · Preparing well engineering design and operational plans for drilling of wells in area of responsibility including well planning, casing design, material and equipment selection, log evaluation, quality assurance and post-job evaluation · Defining rig selection criteria and requirements · Monitoring and applying current best practices, technological advancements to all operations · Preparing and participating in peer reviews, peer assists and other quality assurance activities related to drilling engineering · Participating in team meetings and strategy discussions, Providing engineering support to field level operations · Giving the required support and guidance during Planning and performing drilling engineering activities (well design, drilling program preparation, drilling procedures, etc.) at office level and provide engineering support to field level operations · Participating in Root Cause Analysis investigation · Monitoring daily progress of job(s) or project(s) · Communicating effectively with well site/project Drilling Engineers as needed, and making recommendations to engineers to optimize drilling performance. · Complying with Baker Hughes HSE policies and guidelines as per IWS Management System. Contribute to improved HSE standards by setting example by safe work practices

To be successful in this role you will: · Have leadership experience in an Energy environment with an understanding of Well Planning & Design · Have 15+ years of experience in Oil & Gas, with at least 5 years as a Senior Drilling Engineer and 2+ years in a leadership role · Have experience of working with customers, identifying and implementing improvements to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction · Be a natural communicator, with an ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels · Have a Degree in Petroleum Engineering (preferably Master) · Be proficient in MS office suite, power BI or other analytical tools, well engineering and design software (for example: hydraulics, torque and drag, casing/tubing design) · Be excited by the opportunity of a leadership role where you are mentoring and developing teams · Be an experienced problem solver, with a methodical approach to solving complex customer issues · Be fluent in oral and written English

As part of the program, we are given the opportunities to work in different teams based on our interests and skill sets. So it has given me the opportunity to experiment on my roles and I have landed on some challenging roles. So this has helped me build up my technical knowledge base and also helped me identify the area into which I would like to focus while advancing in my career. That’s about my technical standpoint. So from a leadership skills front, I believe being a part of the committees has helped me interact with the leaders, build my connection circles, boost up my confidence, my communication, my interpersonal skills and so on. So I guess these experiences have helped me shape overall as an individual, both on the technical and the leadership front.
