Job Purpose:
The Commercial Operations Manager (COM) will provide support to the Operations Director in managing and coordinating the internal operational functions of the Beacon Development Department. This will include securing and delivering technical consultancy projects for the Beacon Development Department (BDD). You will be responsible for ensuring that BDD responds in a timely manner to all requests for quotations, ensure that proposals are submitted, and all milestones are managed effectively. As the COM you will work closely with clients to ensure we are meeting their needs, supporting their projects, and resolving any issues that arise throughout the project.
Major Accountabilities:
You will:
* Build relationships with major partners. * Manage, with direction from the Operations Director and Technical Director, the relationship between BDD and key clients. * Develop robust systems to ensure delivery of projects on time and within budget. * Enhance relationships with clients and connect them to the appropriate technical specialists and Lead BDD staff. * Visit clients to discuss ongoing projects and strategic initiatives. * Support the Technical Director and Project Managers in the commercial assessment of new projects, and manage the risk assessment and go/no go decision-making process. * Liaise with KAUST Legal Department, and clients to review and agree acceptable contract terms and conditions. * Confirms contract insurance requirements are in line with KAUST-BDD insurance provisions. * In conjunction with Project Managers and BDD Leadership, negotiate the commercial rates with clients on a regular basis. * Manage the delivery of milestones in consultation with Project Managers. * Provide to BDD management reports on project performance. * Work with Project Managers and Clients to propose corrective actions to existing and new projects as necessary. * Conduct regular meeting with project managers to monitor the commercial and financial progress of each project. * Manage the contractual (non-technical) components of the project with clients and ensure all updated requirements for signing contacts are in place and resourced as required.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, or Technical discipline. Master’s Degree is preferred.
Experience:
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a commercially focused role, preferably within a complex environment
