The Role:
The Shipping Manager will be responsible for effectively and efficiently managing Kanoo Shipping in Jeddah, Rabigh & Gizan (SW Saudi Region) offices to achieve the organization’s business plan and contribute to the achievement of the overall budget of Kanoo Shipping.
Job responsibilities include:
Responsible for the business growth, development and continual improvement of Kanoo Shipping SWS and ensuring that all SWS offices are capable of handling current and future market requirements effectively and efficiently.
Carry out market research and obtain information that can be used as basis for strategic business decisions and / or identifying new business opportunities.
Analyze contractual commitments, customer’s specifications and data to plan and develop a long-term Strategic Business Plan (SBP) and Immediate Business Plan to carry out SBP for approval of Shipping CEO.
Prepare annual budget (income, expense, profit, etc.) in accordance with the company, industry and business requirements for approval of Shipping CEO and submission of monthly reports thereafter.
Represent the organization in order to develop / enhance partnerships / business relationships with both potential and current customers for the best interest of Kanoo Shipping.
Represent the organization in order to develop / enhance a senior level relationship/contact with government agencies relevant to Kanoo Shipping operations.
Responsible for the effective implementation / compliance of Management Requirements as per Kanoo Shipping Operational / Quality / HSSE Procedures and Policies in Kanoo Maritime Center operations.
Ensuring the availability of approved suppliers (as per procedure) to provide customer requirements in a cost-effective manner.
Monitor suppliers to ensure Kanoo Shipping Operational / Quality / HSSE / Accounting requirements are always strictly complied.
Ensuring Cash to Master requirements for SWS are arranged and delivered on a timely manner as required by principals after funds are received
Ensuring the accurate approval of ail payments made to external parties and submitting invoices to Accounts on a timely manner as per procedure
Investigates customer complaints, procedure / safety related issues and ensuring effective corrective actions are implemented with submission of formal report to Shipping CEO.
Ensure Kanoo Shipping’s / principal’s Key Performance Indicator targets are achieved. Carry out monthly reviews and implement effective corrective actions when required.
Ensure to maximize profits/ operational output and optimize resource utilization in Kanoo Shipping SWS operations.
Carry out supplier evaluation/ approval and performance re-evaluation.
Responsible for the overall performance improvement of Kanoo Shipping SWS staff thru regular monitoring/assessment of performance, formulating policies / standing instructions / training needs assessment, discussions with staff, guidance to line managers and supervisors, etc.
Support to other Kanoo Shipping offices in the Middle East/ Kanoo Group divisions / joint ventures where possible (e.g. forwarding information on possible business leads, utilization of other division services, etc.)
المهارات
Bachelors’ Degree in relevant field
Minimum 05 years’ experience working as a Shipping Manager in a similar size company
Knowledge of the Saudi Shipping/ maritime market
Knowledge of relevant local laws, statutes and regulations
Computer Literacy
Fluency in written and verbal English
