Position - Senior Energy Auditor
Conducting on-site commercial energy audits commercial, industrial, and public sector clients. We require an expert in building mechanical, electrical and controls systems to join our professional team as Senior Energy Auditor for our building services. Reporting to the Managing Director, the Senior Energy Auditor will perform building energy audits by analyzing building energy consumption and developing facility improvement and energy savings measures.
We require someone who can contribute immediately and effectively in team settings, has experience in preparing and responding to RFP’s, can perform facility energy audits and tasks independently and/or with a team, and is comfortable in dealing with building owners, designers, and contractors.
Responsibilities
• Preparing Detailed Building Energy Audit reports summarizing the findings of the audits
• Analyze Utility Bill information to determine baseline energy consumption, complete benchmark analysis of facilities, and conduct rate structure analysis.
• Conduct preliminary and detailed site energy audits to collect building information to assist with development of facility improvement measures (FIMS).
• Assess current conditions on site through building audits and review of electrical, mechanical and controls drawings.
• Analyze energy consumptions and preliminary audit information to produce end-use building analysis, identify opportunities for energy conservation and recommend technical solutions.
• Develop facility improvement measures including calculation of costs and energy savings related to specific initiatives.
• Evaluation of potential ‘green’ energy options (i.e. solar panels) to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions for clients
• Commissioning of new buildings
• Assist sales and operations in development of preliminary and detailed proposals.
• Communicate new energy technologies to operations and sales staff.
• Investigate and report available incentives related to energy measures.
• Perform energy modelling simulation using software such as RetrScreen 4, DOE-2, eQUEST,
• Interview building site staff for background information.
Qualifications
• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• 5 years+ of experience of energy engineering combined with a strong technical background
• Registered Professional Engineer or eligible
• Certified Energy Manager CEM (LEED Accredited Professional ) (asset)
• Strong understanding of the processes and procedures of the Energy and Environment industries
• Good understanding job financial reporting
• Excellent listening verbal and written communication as well as organizational skills
• Possess good knowledge of HVAC and of building systems and the relevant Saudi Arabia codes and standards
• Familiar with R/U Value calculations
• Familiar with infrared thermal imaging technology
• Able to train others on new product applications
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office and other PC applications
• Bilingualism English and Arabic, written and spoken - a valuable asset
