Qualified, Visual Building Inspector (Residential/Commercial/Industrial)

Duties:

The qualified visual building inspector will be responsible for the duties of building inspections and our thermal insulation inspection process as well as certain development officer duties as delegated by the Managing Director. This individual will be responsible for the enforcement of the Saudi Arabia National Building Code (SBC 601) and specifically related to the (Thermal Insulation). In addition, this individual will also perform tasks and calculations related to the R and U Values and work alongside a certified thermographer applying thermal imaging to the thermal insulation building inspection process.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: 

Bachelor of Engineering or Architecture from a recognized university and or eligible for designation as a Professional Engineer or Architect with minimum of 5 years related work experience. A Construction background in field techniques and modern construction practices and/or formal building design experience is essential. Familiar with infrared thermal imaging technology and measurement and verification experience an asset.

• AutoCad and the ability to read and interpret construction drawings

Reporting to a Project Manager, you will have the following responsibilities:

• Perform inspections and tests applicable to discipline to determine thermal insulation
• Inspect and monitor the quality and progress of construction activities related to thermal insulation
• Represent Gratton Arabia in all activities on site on a daily basis
• Coordinate and attend construction sites
• Complete assessment of completed work and prepare daily reports
• Co-ordinate design related queries and confer with design engineers and architects
• Co-ordinate construction related activities with Owner and Gratton Arabia project team
• Ensure that project requirements are met in a timely and effective manner
• Understanding of company quality control program, standards, procedures and codes
• Maintaining work performance records, inspection records and other related documents ensuring correctness of all documents
• Assist in coordinating inspection schedules with other departmental schedules
