Main tasks/responsibilities Developing and execution of plans with the therapy sales reps in line with the Pain and PH Business Unit strategy Sales Management · Drives and ensures alignment of sales and service targets in the defined territory. Evaluates and reports actual versus plan with regards to the service strategy and intervenes in an efficient and timely manner in the case of deviations. Account Specific · Ensures the accounts and product -specific service portfolio. · Identifies growth opportunities together with Sales and Clinical Support Team Lead and facilitates execution. · Ensures the collection of market and competitive data, trends and metrics. · Ensures the comprehensive management of inventory in close collaboration with Sales Teams Internal and administrative · Supports the sales force when in trouble with internal processes. · Reports immediately and accurately all negative customer or service related events (e.g., customer feedback, product and legal issues and risks etc.). Position Summary The Clinical Specialist demonstrates quality in all actions; Trains and educates investigators/customers on proper use of the MDT Pain and PH product and technology. Works with surgeons, nurses, research coordinators, and other hospital personnel to facilitate optimal outcomes during implant, post-operative care and long-term use of the therapy. Supports Field Sales on providing the best possible outcomes and service for our customers. Works closely with Clinical Lead, Clinical Management and Regional Sales team, provides case support to wider team when required. Collaborates with Marketing/Product Management, Engineering and Clinical Affairs on key projects and initiatives. Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures (Company and Sales/ Clinical Management) and practices to determine appropriate action. Builds productive internal/external working relationships. Essential duties and responsibilities Developing professional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues. - Promote safe and efficacious use of Pain and PH approved sites - Identifying and developing sites to be approved for using MDT Products in strong collaboration with Sales and Clinical Lead and - Management - Provides technical support, information and demonstration of MDT system to clinicians and hospital professionals - Consults with physicians and site study coordinator on preoperative and post-operative related issues - Work in collaboration with EMEA Clinical Specialist Team to ensure ‘Optimal Clinical Outcomes’ - Attend various trade shows to support promotional and educational activities - Participates in planned customer education programs - Assists Marketing in developing training and educational activities - Point of contact for hospital personnel - Materials management contact for ordering/billing and device return procedures - Work with Medtronic Marketing Department and implanting and non-implanting site(s) to increase enrollment - Support all aspects of MDT Pain and PH business at assigned implanting and non-implanting study sites - Monthly/bi-monthly visits to approved sites per region - Maintain contact with customers to evaluate their clinical and educational needs - Maintain (and can help to develop) given standards to ensure quality of Field Service - Performs on-site surgical training and clinical support for the Pain and PH product and technology - Collaboration with Clinical Management and Lead to develop clinical education programs designed to enhance user competencies - Cultivates close relationship with strategic clinical partners (Key Opinion Leaders), including all training centers and support staff - Contributes to objectives and programs for the development and clinical support of the Company’s products - Provides nursing and/or medical expertise to support case reports, journal articles and clinical reports from clinicians - Represents Pain and PH at conferences and symposiums - Work with Marketing and Product Management to support establishing priorities for the Company direction - Advises Sales and Clinical Lead of any and all situations affecting clinical results - Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned - Contributes to an emergency hotline - Participates in and supports clinical trials Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities · Highly motivated, great desire to help others · Composed under stress and well organized · Demonstrates highest degree of integrity · Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written/verbal/listening); · Strategic planning skills; ability to make timely and sound decisions · Ability to organize, prioritize and schedule work assignments · Ability to build strong relationships with key physicians, users and employees across functions and at all levels · Willingness to travel up to 75% is required · Ability to work independently; while at the same time playing an active team role · Presentation skills, able to introduce new technologies and therapies within a clinical trial setting · Ability to develop, implement and evaluate clinical education methodologies and assessment instruments Required Education/ Experience · Acknowledged education and degree in relevant field/discipline required such as Nursing (OR, ICU, Cathlab), Biomedical Science, Perfusion, or equivalent · Minimum 3 years of experience in hospital work or clinical support in medical company · Demonstrated operating theatre and/or cath lab experience Environmental Factors/Work environment: Work is performed in clinical setting, hospital, cardiac theatre and home office. Physical demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, use hands or fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, this is primarily a sedentary position with 25% of work time spent sitting at a desk. Travel/International travel as required up to 75% of time.
