We are looking for a social researcher in the AI field with a grasp of the innovation management, economics, and entrepreneurship and who is excited about the economic growth potential of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision for 2030.
You will be able to plan, design, conduct, and manage research projects, in communication with a range of global companies, government departments and world-class universities.
You will use a variety of methods to collect evidence, analyse and organise information and data, which you then present to others, either in a written report or as an oral presentation. You can hand a range of methods, such as use-case and evidence collection, interviews, survey questionnaires and focus groups. Research findings may be used to shape business strategy or policy and sometimes used to examine the effectiveness of such.
You will join a diverse team in a fast-changing business environment.

Research fields include, but are not limited to:
● Business innovation and technology policy and economic development, with regard to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision for 2030.
● The NEOM City Region Project and use-case designs
● National innovation systems and regional economic growth: Modern industrial systems, Entrepreneurial start-up systems, Talent and finance systems, Modern management systems, and Progressive livelihood and urban systems.
● Smart systems, including applications of Artificial Intelligence and blockchain (markets, trade and business models, legal, ethics, data, social perspectives, inequality education, skills and jobs).
المهارات
● Saudi National, UAE National, Arab National depending upon the location – Riyadh or Dubai
● Strong interest in Innovation, The Neom project, Artificial Intelligence, and socio-economic development.
● A high degree – e.g. MSc or equivalent experience in a relevant field (such as Business Economics) with an understanding of national systems of innovation and at least one or more development sectors. Understanding of city-regions is an advantage.
● Minimum of 7 years work experience working on research or consultancy projects. Strategic thinker, with experience of project design and ability to plan and prioritise work towards tight deadlines.
● Having worked in corporate, academic or Think-tank or KACST environment is desirable, or experience of working with remote areas of KSA is desirable.
● Ability to generate business development and close contracts.
● Advanced abilities for conceptional and qualitative research techniques. Basic knowledge of quantitative methods.
● Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills. Strong spoken and written English and Arabic skills. Candidate should be comfortable working on MS office programmes and (as Word, Excel and other) as well SurveyMonkey.
● Strong interpersonal skills, with experience of building and maintaining relationships with external organisations (companies, academia, regulators and government)
● Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
● A high degree of self-motivation and a proactive approach to work.
● Organised and Entrepreneurial team player who enjoys their work and looks for challenges.
● Passion for Big Innovation Centre’s mission.
