Summary
Assists the Supervisor in the overnight of housekeeping staff in an assigned area, ensuring optimum use of labor, materials, and equipment.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
1. Assigns duties to subordinate staff as instructed by the Supervisor.
2. Organizes material consumables and machinery in the Housekeeping closet. Ensures that these materials are used correctly and economically by subordimate housekeeping staff.
3. Does inspections according to departmetnal requirements using checklists and provides recommendations for follow-up.
4. Ensures that supplies and equipment required to complete scheduled work, are available at the correct time and place and supervises any special procedures.
5. Checks that work is performed according to established procedures and standards and that assignments are completed satisfactorily within the assigned time.
6. Assists the Supervisor in a variety of clerical tasks e.g. work request, quality inspectiuons, signing in/out, employee requests.
7. Receives requests/ complaints from user department and report to the Supervisor.
8. Enters work and leave requests into computer systems and accesses ICIS for patient room discharge information.
9. Reports any mechanical failures/discrepancies or unsafe condition in his/her assigned area to the Supervisor.
10. Supervises the movement of patient room furniture to/ from storage area as instructed by the Supervisor, completing any necessary documentation.
11. Ensures compliance with infection control recommendations and isolation procedures.
12. Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.
13. Participates in self and othe educational training and development as applicable.
Education
Associate Degree/ Diploma or High School Education and formal training in Housekeeping, Environmental Health or any related discipline is required.
Experience Required
No experience with Associate Degree/ Diploma or one (1) year of experience in Housekeeping in a Tertiary Healthcare Facility required.
Other Requirements(Certificates)
- Must have a working knowledge in MS office software (MS word, Excel).
- Must have proven supervisory skills.
