Investigates the market and find new sources for materials and equipment, which will reduce the cost of the purchased materials and equipment and provide more flexibility to the purchasing process.
Establishes a partner relationship with the suppliers of materials and equipment to achieve mutual interest for both parties.
Communicates with the department heads and the users of materials to resolve any problems or difficulties encountered.
Responsible for the personnel evaluation within the supplies services department.
Designs and implement a perpetual inventory system to ascertain the quantity and value of stock items.
Coordinates the best utilization of items stored in the main Warehouse and departmental stores to avoid their expiry prior use.
Provides the administration with periodical reports to reflect the mactivity of the different sections of the department.
Provides training for subordinates and monitor their performance.
Coordinates for the continuous improvement in the processes and services of the Supply Chain Management.
Participates effectively in cost containment initiative.
Maintain a high standard of work as per the JCI standards and other standards as required.

Is knowledgeable of personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to chemicals, radiation and/or biohazards.
Recommends a sufficient number of qualified and competent persons to provide care/service. Plans daily coverage according to department needs and personnel ability. Make provisions to cover emergency situations. Adheres to the staffing plan and monitors staffing level on a daily/shift basis.
Interviews and selects qualified personnel. Follows policy regarding selection of staff and ensures fair employment practices.
Ensures orientation of new staff to the department. Assures new employees attend general orientation within 30 days of hire and if not, removes employee from work schedule. Accepts accountability for documentation for of the department–specific orientation program.
Conducts formal evaluations according to hospital policy and within two weeks of the due date. Provides ongoing informal evaluations giving staff constructive feedback.

Adheres to organization’s attendance and timeliness policy.
Notifies Supervisor of inability to arrive to work on time or of the need to leave earlier than established schedule in a timely manner.

Monitors and ensures compliance of the department operations budget. Reviews monthly financial statistics and plans expenditures according to budgeted limitations.
Develops and direct the implementation of the departmental operating policies and procedure to guarantee a smooth and timely supplies functions.
المهارات
Minimum of (12) years’ experience at Supply Chain Management including at least 6 years experiences as Head of Materials or Supplies Department in a hospital.
Understand and meet the criteria and standards developed by the appropriate local/international authorities for a hospital facility
Masters level degree in related field preferred
Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or related field is required
High degree of negotiation skills
Knowledge of management theories and practices.
The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to follow written and verbal instructions, and the ability to maintain effective working relations with others
Knowledge of computer applications (Word and Excel)
Physical Demands / Work Environment:

Standard Precautions - Standard precautions will be observed in order to prevent contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials. Under circumstances in which differentiation between body fluid types is difficult or impossible, all body fluids shall be considered potentially infectious materials. All blood or other potentially infectious materials will be considered infectious regardless of the status.
Education - Participates in required in-services and in addition attends at least 8 educational programs per year.
Attendance and Punctuality - Follows all facility guidelines outlining standards of attendance and punctuality. Responsible for reporting to and completing work at assigned times.
Safe Working Environment - Demonstrates an awareness of and adherence to safety and legal requirements established at the facility with an emphasis on maintaining a safe environment for all persons working in the facility.
Accident/Injury Reporting - Reports any accidents and injuries to supervisor immediately and reports any pre-existing conditions.
Unsafe Conditions – Immediately reports and corrects, if possible, unsafe conditions or equipment.
Workplace Standards - Complies with relevant regulations and standards and policies governing safe workplace environment. (JCIA, etc.)
Safety Techniques - Maintains current knowledge of all aspects of the facilities safety program by attending safety related training, as mandated, upon hire and thereafter as required by facility.
Modified Work/Prescribed Treatment - Accepts modified work assignment, after receiving the physician’s release to return to work following an accident/injury. Follows the recommended treatment as ordered by physician
